Closing Docs
After signing all the documents to close on
your new home make sure you keep a copy
of everything! Fidelity National Title will
give you several options on how to keep these
documents. We can give you hard copies or a
CD after closing and we can even email it to
you so you can store it on your home computer
or in the Cloud. Regardless how you receive
your documents, you’ll want to store them in a
safe place because you will need them again for
refinancing or the re-sale of your home.
The following items are
imperative to keep on hand:
1.
Your HUD-1,
or settlement statement is important for tax purposes. This
document is proof taxes were paid for the current tax year.
2.
Your Survey
is needed if you refinance. Also when selling your property
you can offer it to the buyers in your contract if no changes
have been made to the property.
3.
The Owners Title Policy
will be sent to you in the mail after closing on your home.
This document is very important if you were to have an
issue with your title and need to make a claim with the Title
Company where your property closed.
